After watching August Rush I did the normal thing I do and look it up on Wikipedia. I found that Kaki King was the hand double for little August when he played the hell out of the guitar. Naturally I then had to look Kaki King up and I was blown away. She has an awesome approach to the guitar, and I love it when a girl can kick ass at a male dominated instrument.

Cool! I saw her play “Pink Noise” on Letterman (I think that’s what it was) but that other song is even better.

For more Kaki King – she is awesome! – check out the ETown podcasts. She was on a show quite awhile ago, but it’s still available for download. If you don’t know about ETown, you’ll probably get hooked on those quickly. It’s a great show because aside from playing music the musicians always talk music too.
Jay – saw August Rush twice and then did the same thing – looked up Kaki and heard some amazing tapping. Her stuff is on emusic also.
Have you seen Phil Keaggy live? Lots of similar stuff (Michael Hedges-esque).
